Digital Power Supply COTEK AD-1500 Programmable

Description

Network-capable, programmable, and individually configurable power supplies are more in demand than ever. For the complex requirements associated with Industry 4.0, healthcare, battery charging infrastructure, and much more, COTEK has developed the new AD-1500 series.

With interchangeable interface modules, many application areas are possible – from single and parallel operation to direct control and remote monitoring via Ethernet.

The universal AC input range enables worldwide use in various environments. Nominal output voltages are available as standard from 12 VDC to 60 VDC, as well as from 120 VDC to 400 VDC. Both the output voltage and current can be flexibly and intelligently programmed from 0% to 105%.

The new AD-1500 power supply series supports various interface configurations: RS-232/RS-485, I²C, Ethernet, PMBus, MODBUS. Users can flexibly and precisely configure settings through an easy-to-use graphical interface. The isolation circuit and integrated ORing diode ensure seamless interaction of all components in the application.

Highlights

  • Simplified parallel operation & control via CAN-Bus
  • Parallel operation of different models possible (e.g., 3000 W + 1500 W = 4500 W)
  • Interfaces: Single operation, parallel operation, Ethernet
  • Built-in EEPROM for saving and restoring settings after input voltage loss
  • Graphical interface for setting, monitoring, and querying power supply status
  • Built-in ORing-FET and communication isolation circuit

FAQ

External Power Supplies (Plug-in and Desktop Power Supplies)

Find practical answers to frequently asked questions about our external plug-in and desktop power supplies for industrial, medical, and IT applications. These articles support you with selecting the appropriate model, navigating country-specific mains plug options, and ensuring safe commissioning and troubleshooting.

For an external power supply unit (e.g. a desktop power supply) to operate safely, four criteria must match your device: voltage, current, polarity, and connector dimensions. You will usually find the required ratings on your device’s rating plate (typically under "Input") or on your previous power supply under "Output".

  1. Voltage (volts / V) – must match exactly: The output voltage of the power supply unit must match your device's input voltage precisely. Excessive voltage can permanently damage the electronics; insufficient voltage will cause the device not to start or to run unstably.
  2. Current (amperes / A) – may be higher: The power supply unit must supply at least the current required by the device. A higher ampere or wattage rating on the power supply poses no risk, as the device only draws the current it actually requires.
  3. Polarity – must match: Check the polarity symbol on the device. DC barrel connectors are usually centre-positive (positive pole inside). The replacement power supply must have identical polarity.
  4. Connector dimensions (DC barrel connector): The connector must fit securely and smoothly into the socket. Common dimensions specify the outer and inner diameters (e.g. 5.5 × 2.1 mm or 5.5 × 2.5 mm). If socket dimensions are non-standard or unclear, universal power supplies with an adapter set can help.
